Oscar Nominated Short Films Featured in Go Film Magazine
The third annual ‘Short Films at the Oscars’ issue from Go Film Magazine features 12 of the 87th Academy Award nominated shorts.
February 2015
Go Film Magazine once again brings the short films at the Oscars into focus with unparalleled coverage of the 87th Academy Awards short film selections. The multimedia film magazine introduces readers to twelve of the fifteen competition filmmakers nominated this year through personal interviews, film clips, and exclusive behind-the-scenes material.
Amongst the selection of films from all three categories, including live action, animation and documentary, is 2015 BAFTA winner The Bigger Picture. English director Daisy Jacobs has celebrated continuous success since the release of her unique, animated film, including official selection at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. In her candid interview, she tells readers of her filming process as well as inspiration behind the film.
Another film director interviewed inside this issue experiencing multiple prestigious award nominations is Michael Lennox with his live action short, Boogaloo and Graham, which is also nominated for a BAFTA this year. Inspired by the true childhood story of the film’s writer, Ronan Blaney, the film stars two or Ireland’s most renowned and talented actors; Martin McCann and Charlene McKenna.
In addition to exclusive coverage of short film at one of the world’s most important annual film festivals, Go Social Film brings readers several full length short films from the Oscar nominated directors – available to view easily from within the pages of the magazine. Directors of each full length short give a short introduction to their work, and include Ellen Goosenberg’s Wartorn: 1861-2010, the research of which some of the inspiration behind Crisis Hotline: Veterans Press One was found. Other full length works include a music video directed by Mat Kirkby of British singing sensation, Adele.
